This experiential workshop offers practical tools to guide your "green business value" discovery process. You will identify your business values, refine your vision for your company, and assess your efficiency and effectiveness in both the business and the green aspects of running a successful enterprise. Instructors:
Jane Norton founded and leads ReSourcing Natural Solutions (www.design-with-nature.com), a sustainability coaching, consulting and educational firm. She is also founder and Chief Visionary Officer for Eartheal, (www.eartheal.org) a non-profit organization currently developing the online Triangle and statewide Community Green Guide (www.communitygreenguide.org). Jane has a Masters degree in Community Design/Landscape Architecture. She also teaches a Sustainable Living course at Durham Tech, a ‘Growing Your Business Green’ course at the DTCC Small Business Center and Eco-Impact courses to youth. She has started and run three businesses- from designing homes & renovations, to organizational consulting in creativity, team building and leadership development to her current sustainability focus.
Al Huntoon is founder and CEO of Catalyst Consulting Services, LLC providing services to small businesses, nonprofits, governmental units, and universities. Services include management consulting, capacity building, strategic planning, and program evaluation. Al has a special interest in social enterprise; the focus of his consulting practice is assisting mission-driven organizations, including green ventures, with adopting an entrepreneurial mindset as well as adhering to sound business practices and disciplines. He developed and served as Managing Director of the Mental Health Leadership Academy, a project of the Urban Investment Strategies Center, Frank Hawkins Kenan Institute of Private Enterprise, UNC. He has a B.S.W. from N CS U and an M.S.W. from UNC-Chapel Hill.
