The Durham Inner-city Gardeners at SEEDS Educational Garden are hosting the

2nd annual Pie Social and Skill Share Silent Auction

on Sunday, April 18th from 2-6 pm to raise money for summer youth salaries. DIG is a youth-driven, urban farming leadership development program that empowers teens by teaching organic gardening, sound business practices, healthy food choices and food security values.  DIG youth are paid a stipend to cultivate fruits, vegetables, herbs, flowers and mushrooms, which they sell at the Durham Farmer's Market.

Join us for an afternoon of music and pie in our beautiful garden at 706 Gilbert St.  The skill share silent auction puts a spin on a traditional silent auction—instead of bidding on things, bid on the opportunity to learn unique skills including beer brewing, firespinning, gilding, bread baking, dancing, and even how to fly a plane!  A suggested minimum donation of $10 includes up to four slices of pie from over 20 local restaurants including Watts Grocery, Sage and Swift Gourmet Catering, Scratch Bakery, Lantern, Full Steam Brewpub, Papa Mojo’s Roadhouse, Piedmont, Four Square, Mad Hatter, Crooks Corner, Parker and Otis, Foster’s, Joe’s Place, Pop’s, Rue Cler, Washington Duke Inn, Acme, Durham Catering Co., Whole Foods and more.
