Bastille Day has passed and dog days (sad to say) are here! No fear: its time to dig fall beds & solarize grass in time to plant those cool weather vegetables & perennial edibles this Fall. Plants need extra care and observation this time of year--give us a call if you have questions.

Please ENLIST with us this August for a series of popular education trainings---Sustainable Vocations, North Carolina. Sign up for individual or multiple days with some great local leaders & practitioners leading a range of awesome workshops August 3-14th:

land access, trusts, & tenure,
edible landscaping, energy efficiency and green building.

Join us from 6-9pm on Aug. 3rd at the Stone House. SV-NC will have a FREE Open House and free sampling of the entire program, running Aug 4th through 14th. This is a wonderful opportunity to gain low cost (sliding-scale) immersion in building practical skills for growing the power from the ground up in our communities!

In Other BB NEWS...Fall garden workshops, organic vegetables at Two Ton Farm & fall planting:

On August 1st we’ll release our first streamlined community workshop calendar, so folks can begin planning ahead for the workshops we’ll be offering this Fall!
First market day at the BB/GSI urban mini-farm in Durham will be tomorrow Friday, July 23rd at Two Ton Farm 511 North Hyde Park Ave from 8am - Noon. We’ll be selling produce from the farm each Friday. This week we’ll have okra, zucchini, tomatoes, bell peppers & cucumbers.
Make sure to give us a call for fruit tree orders, edible landscape designs, and fall plantings. Check out our Jumpstart package, blowin’ up throughout the Triangle...
