Services

We work with beginners and experienced gardeners, co-creating landscapes that educate and empower groups and individuals to grow their own food sustainably.

Here's just a taste of what we offer:

* Detailed surveys of potential sites - assessing everything from soil conditions to sunlight to the needs, skills and time of those tending the garden.
* Unique designs tailored to your needs and resources, from small organic vegetable gardens to food forests.
* Intensive regenerative treatments to replenish, restore and amend soils, creating the perfect conditions for abundant growth.
* Design and building of the infrastructure that makes gardening easy, rewarding and sustainable.
* Installation of our designs using environmentally regenerative, and as-local-as-possible plants and materials.

Design, Preparation and Installation

Together with the client, we create beautiful, diverse and sustainable edible gardens for schools, communities, congregations and homeowners.

We plant fruit trees, berry bushes, beautiful and beneficial perennials, annual vegetable gardens, medicinal & other herb gardens. We integrate our clients (as much or as little as they want) to create productive and low-maintenance edible landscapes.

From backyard urban mini-farms to perennial edible landscapes, parks, schoolyards, and homesites, Bountiful Backyards helps you get it done and enables you to learn at your own pace with your family, school, neighborhood or community project.

Keeping it Living Monthly Maintenance Package

This plan is for folks with a busy pace to their lives, for people who have a lot of love for the garden, but not necessarily a lot of time.  Each month over the growing seasons, you’ll get a visit that will accomplish basic maintenance tasks to keep you caught up and make your garden experience more manageable and rewarding.

Covers:

  • Basic pruning
  • Weeding
  • Mulching
  • Fertilizing

This package also includes email and phone support, and a short summary of our recommendations after each visit. Since our gardens are designed to be lower-maintenance, you can also roll-over* visits to accomplish larger tasks such as re-mulching, bigger pruning projects, and dividing & otherwise propagating perennials.

Keeping it Living Monthly Package==$150/month

*roll over expires quarterly, after that its use it or lose it

  • Deadheading spent blooms

These visits are geared toward supporting the involved gardener and will include a short summary of our recommendations to help you guide you between visits. The plan also includes email and phone support as needed.

Education, Training and Guidance
The process is as important as the harvest. We tailor our installations and fees so clients can participate as much (or as little!) as they desire. Our educational programs help kids explore the wonder of gardening - from making compost, to planting seeds, to tending plants, to the joy of harvesting their first crop.

Our training helps homeowners, facility managers, employees and volunteers to tend, adapt and develop their landscapes.  We enable folks to take ownership of their surroundings and allowing it to develop over time. And our workshop series has empowered hundreds of community members to build skills in everything from growing shiitake mushrooms to raisin' chickens.

We never fail to be amazed at what can be learned from a day in the garden...Care to join us?

And if you want to do it all yourself, but need a little inspiration - we can help there too. We offer consultancy packages, charged by the hour, to give you just the right amount of input before you jump into your project.
