SERVICES
Regenerative Design and Installation
Our design process is a collective and creative process that creates mutually beneficial relationships between ourselves and the environment.
Our designs give a long and broad view to sites and help with phasing elements in to the yard. We take in to account available sunlight, water and drainage issues, conditions of existing soil, and your own goals so that you 'get a yield' at your own pace. And our installation team is a seasoned and grizzled group of hardcore veterans that cooperatively creates the solid foundations for a beautiful, diverse, and productive edible landscape.
From backyard urban mini-farms to perennial edible landscpaes, Bountiful Backyards helps you get it done with your family, school, nieghborhood, our collaborative process allows your to community to take off and run with the garden at whatever point you feel comfortable.
Consulting
In a first meeting we bring our site evaluation tools including sunlight readings in 5-10 spots at the site, go over feasible useful plants, land limitations & potential, installation options, and learn about you or your groups goals.

Rainwater Catchment

One of the most underutilized aspects of our landscape are the roofs that we sleep under. Capturing rainwater is an ecologically and socially responsible way to maintain edible landscaping, no matter how small or large. Our simple rainwater catchment 'systems' are affordable, value-add projects that increase self-sufficiency without large infrastructural investment.
We use recycled 275-gallon totes that are non-toxic, durable, and utilize the existing features of the landscape, most often through simple gravity. In cases where gravity is running away from the garden, we offer small pumps that range between $150-$250 that can get the water to any garden and can provide years of fresh rainwater for fruit trees, annual gardens, and native perennials. We have found that one cistern is sufficient for most landscapes to store water through drought. To get started, please call (919) 619.9862 or email bountifulbackyards@gmail.com

"If nature had set no limit to the destruction of things, by this time the bodies of matter would have been so far reduced by the destruction of the past that nothing could be conceived out of them and reach maximum growth. For we see that anything is more quickly destroyed than again renewed. If this were the only rule governing matter, the infinite duration of past time could never be renewed again. Surely we see a fixed limit to this breaking! First beginnings therefore are strong in solid singleness and by a denser combination of these, all things can exhibit enduring strength."
Lucretius (99-55 BC), 'On the Nature of the Universe'
