Who We Are

Keith is a co-founder of Bountiful Backyards and has been growing perennial and annual systems for almost 20 years. Graduating with a BA in English in 2001, he's had his "feet on the ground and head in the clouds", working as a sous chef, amateur scholar, itinerant journalist, pedicab driver, and various other journeys before starting BB in 2007. These political, economic, and spiritual experiences have led to a consistent livelihood rooted in community, centered on growing soil, food, and plants, and leaving a better world for his two children, Aster and Frances than the way he found it. He is currently writing a book on edible landscaping and has been a speaker at the CFSA conference, Foodscaper Summit, and other venues over the years.

Kate is Bountiful Backyards' main designer and plant propagator. She is passionate about native plants, uncommon fruits, medicinal plants, and annual cut flowers and has been with BB since 2010. Prior to that, she worked for various public health and sustainable agriculture non-profits. Since then she has become the backbone of our business, managing the positive relationships with our clients and our community, and a strong co-partner running the Bountiful Acre Market Garden. Kate is a passionate cook and bread baker, and loves spending time in nature with her two children Aster and Frances.
