Rain Garden Workshop | Sunday, April 13th 1-2:30pm | Raleigh, NC
Rain gardens are beautiful and useful perennial gardens that divert roof, driveway, or other impervious surface runoff to a much smaller landscape footprint. They can completely transform almost any landscape, providing passive irrigation and reducing erosion and eliminating runoff. Whether your goal is selling vegetables at a farmers market or sunbathing on a lush green lawn, rain gardens are a great starting point! Rain gardens protect our own land and our watersheds. In this workshop, we will explore the fundamentals of rain garden design and site location, infrastructure, construction, logistics, soil, and plants in an existing two year old rain garden in Raleigh. This yard is also a certified “Backyard National Park” habitat.
