Practical Permaculture Design and Installation Intensive | Saturday, May 18th | Saxapahaw, NC

$250.00

What is permaculture? We can answer this question simply and effectively, learning the logistical fundamentals of permaculture design including creating a base map, measuring stormwater for landscape use, assessing photosynthesis in the landscape, baseline soil assessment, and existing topography. We will also conduct a fun investigation of the 12 Permaculture Principles! After the theory, we will explore on-site the integration of abundant annual and perennial systems, and the creation of habitat by unifying our vision with mother nature. This is easy because we are nature!

Take a demystifying journey through one of the most radically self-reliant and simultaneously community building gardening practices there is, as we go in depth, in the garden, learning both theory and practice. Participants will plant a mini-orchard on-site and gain valuable feedback and support for their own projects and endeavors. This intensive will be a condensed version of our popular edible landscaping class that we taught for more than a decade at Durham Tech Community College.
